Unfortunately, we have received the incredibly sad news that Nick Akers passed away this week after being diagnosed with cancer recently. His parent's Pete and Jane were in contact with the following message:
"We have been with Nick for the last week, staying in his hospital room, and we were at his side when he passed, peacefully thanks to the care of the excellent palliative care team.
Please send your contact details to us at if you would like to be kept informed of the memorial event that we will hold once restrictions are lifted. Please also send us any photos and anecdotes about Nick that you may have.
Note that Jane and I share that email address, so please use appropriate language. Finally, whatever your religion, and even if you don’t have one, please say a prayer for our beautiful boy.
Pete & Jane "
Akers has been a huge part of Quintin for a long time so I'm sure there are any number of great pictures and stories out there that his parents would love to see and hear. We are discussing ways in which we as a Club can pay our respects and celebrate his life and will update on that when appropriate.
Due to the unfortunate spread of Covid-19, all RFU leagues have been suspended for the 19/20 season. All club games and social activities are cancelled in line with the government-mandated social distancing and quarantine guidelines. We hope everyone is managing well at this difficult time and that we all support, and ask for support from, each other if needed.
